Rohit Sharma stand inaugurated at Wankhede Stadium; MCA pays homage to Sharad Pawar, Ajit Wadekar


The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Friday, inaugurated a stand at the Wankhede Stadium in honour of India ODI skipper and T20 World Cup winning captain Rohit Sharma.

The cricket body also paid homage to former BCCI Chairman and Sharad Pawar and former India skipper Ajit Wadekar, naming two stands in their honour.

The board also named the MCA Office Lounge in honour of former President Amol Kale, who passed away in June 2024 following a cardiac arrest.

The Divecha Pavilion Level 3 has been renamed the Rohit Sharma Stand, marking a tribute to India’s ODI captain at his home ground. The Grand Stand Level 3 will now bear the name of former BCCI president Pawar, while Grand Stand Level 4 will be dedicated to Wadekar.
