RTGS mulls creating unique profiles for households, villages in Andhra

Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) K. Dinesh Kumar on Thursday (January 9) apprised Minister for Civil Supplies Nadendla Manohar of plans to create a unique profile for every household and village in the State and said government schemes were being monitored through the RTGS. The Minister was visiting the RTGS at the Secretariat.

Mr. Dinesh said that though a vast amount of data was available across the departments, it was yet to be integrated into a centralised system. As such, the RTGS was now collecting data from the departments and establishing a repository.

The Minister said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu demonstrated through the RTGS that technology could break new ground in governance. He also lauded the WhatsApp governance initiative, through which a host of government-to-citizen services were going to be delivered.

Mr. Dinesh told the Minister that RTGS was providing the necessary technical infrastructure to make governance more accessible to the public. He said the RTGS operated under the ‘One Government, One State, One Citizen, One Data’ policy to offer smart governance.

The Minister said data was crucial for managing assets, monitoring the implementation of schemes, and tracking the delivery of government services. He praised the RTGS for playing a critical role in the execution of departmental programmes and enforcement of accountability through defined timelines for programme implementation.

RTGS Deputy CEO M. Madhuri and other officials were present.
