Six held for luring youth through app and robbing him
			 
The Nandambakkam police have arrested six persons for allegedly luring a youth through a mobile app and robbing him of his money.
According to the police, Gautham, 25, of AGR Garden, Mugalivakkam, works as a software engineer at a private firm in Pudupet. A few days ago, he became acquainted with a man named Rajesh, 25, on the Grindr app. On Saturday, Rajesh asked Gautham to meet him in person. They both met on a vacant plot near Manapakkam. As they were talking, five men arrived on motorbikes and threatened them. They assaulted Gautham and transferred ₹24,000 to their bank accounts from his digital wallet and left the spot.
Based on Gautham’s complaint, the police registered a case. Investigation revealed that Rajesh, along with his friends, had conspired to lure Gautham and rob him. The police arrested Rajesh, Manikandan, 23, Varadharaj alias Sanjay, 24, Gokul, 22, Ganesh Kumar, 24, and Gautham, 19, of Porur. The police seized five mobile phones, including two iPhones, and three two-wheelers used in the crime.
