Special session of Legislature likely from March 1 to 5
A special session of the State Legislature is likely to be convened from March 1 to 5 to bring two legislations with regard to the BC reservations and the SC sub-categorisation.
Highly placed sources said that the State budget would be presented in the last week of March by the Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
It is understood that in tune with the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s promise to bring two legislations on BC reservations and sub categorisation, the special session has been planned.
Based on the submission of the one-man Commission of Inquiry report on the sub-categorisation, the State Legislature will introduce a Bill. Once the Legislature passes the Bill, the legislation would follow. Similarly, for the BC’s, the government has already promised 42% reservations in the local bodies. The same quota will be applicable for employment and education.
A cabinet meeting would be convened shortly to discuss the draft bill and approve the same before introduction in the Assembly. Once BC quota in local bodies and education and employment Bills are passed along with the SC sub-categorisation legislation, the same would be sent to Centre for approval.
