India men’s hockey team on Saturday defeated Canada 14-3 in its final round-robin fixture in Ipoh, Malaysia to secure a spot in the final of the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup 2025.
The result means India will finish in the top two in the points table, irrespective of other results later in the day. The Craig Fulton-coached side is likely to face Belgium in the final.
Belgium is currently at 10 points, and faces New Zealand, which has seven points, later on Saturday. New Zealand has an outside chance to qualify for the final but needs to win by a margin of at least six goals.
