T.N. CM Stalin reviews preparedness over heavy rain alert

In view of the weather advisory predicting heavy rains, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin took stock of the situation during a meeting in the Secretariat in Chennai on Thursday (November 27, 2025) and reviewed the steps being undertaken by the government machinery in various districts.

Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials of the Revenue and Disaster Management, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Home, School Education, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Departments and senior police officers took part in the meeting.

New projects unveiled

In another event, Mr. Stalin virtually unveiled the foundation for various projects to be implemented by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department at a total cost of ₹79.94 crore. He also virtually inaugurated new projects that have been completed at a total cost of ₹6.77 crore. Minister P.K. Sekarbabu was present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister also virtually inaugurated new buildings constructed by the Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department in various locations across Tamil Nadu at a total cost of ₹10.79 crore. He also unveiled the foundation for the construction for new buildings to be constructed at a total cost of ₹38.85 crore to house student hostels in various locations.

Mr. Stalin handed over the first instalment of assistance for renovating nine old mosques and dargahs. Ministers S.M. Nasar, Siva V. Meyyanathan; Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials were also present. He also presented awards to various institutions under the Social Welfare Department, in the presence of Minister P. Geetha Jeevan.
