T20 Mumbai League back after six years; Third edition to start on May 26

The T20 Mumbai League will return after a six-year hiatus, with the third edition set to begin on May 26. The league will continue to have eight owners, just like its second edition in 2019, with two new team owners in Sobo Mumbai Falcons and the Mumbai South Central.

The Roadway Solutions India Infra Ltd. secured the operating rights of Team Sobo Mumbai Falcons for ₹82 crore, while Royal Edge Sports & Entertainment acquired the team representing Mumbai South Central region for ₹57 crore. The previous owners – Shivaji park Lions and Sobo Supersonics – had backed out with the league having returned following a prolonged break due to the pandemic.

“We are confident that the league will return with a bang and will provide a platform for Mumbai cricketers to showcase their talent,” Ajinkya Naik, the Mumbai Cricket Association president, said after welcoming Rohit Sharma as the brand ambassador for T20 Mumbai Season Three.
