Tenkasi municipality Junior Assistant suspended

A junior assistant of Tenkasi municipality has been placed under suspension for not paying the deposits to the tune of ₹21 lakh collected from contractors in the municipality’s bank account.

Sources in Tenkasi municipality said Junior Assistant in the urban civic body Kidharoli Raja Mohammed, who was collecting the deposits from the contractors executing the development work of the municipality, did not remit them in municipality’s bank account.

When Commissioner Ravichandran received complaints against Raja Mohammed, an internal inquiry was conducted. As the inquiry found the charges levelled against Raja Mohammed to be true and he had not paid the deposits in the bank, Mr. Ravichandran placed him under suspension on Wednesday, the sources said.
