Directed by Prakash Veer, The Devil showcases Darshan in an action-packed avatar, marking his return to the big screen following his arrest in the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case. The latest teaser, the second from the film, quickly gained traction, amassing over 386K views within an hour of its release on Saregama Kannada’s official YouTube channel.
The teaser introduces Darshan’s character with the tagline: “The man with a deep past, and now with a crazy present. Welcome to the world of The Devil.” The visuals highlight the star’s fierceness, hinting at an action drama designed to cater to his devoted fanbase, known as ‘celebrities.’
This project had been indefinitely postponed due to Darshan’s legal troubles, following his arrest in June 2024. After spending months in judicial custody, the actor was granted bail in December. In a recent video message, Darshan reassured fans of his continued presence in the Kannada film industry, dismissing rumors about his career. He also urged fans not to gather outside his residence for birthday celebrations, citing health reasons.
