The Centre on Thursday (October 2, 2025) gave the green signal to resume direct flights between India and China after a gap of five years, with IndiGo’s flights from Kolkata to the trading hub of Guangzhou set for take-off from October 26. “It has now been agreed that direct air services connecting designated points in India and China can resume by late October 2025, in keeping with the winter season schedule,” a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs said, adding that the move will “further facilitate people-to-people contact between India and China, contributing towards the gradual normalisation of bilateral exchanges.”

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology put out the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025’s draft rules — its enforcement — out for consultation on Thursday (October 2, 2025) evening. 11 killed as tractor-trolley falls into pond during Durga idol immersion in Madhya Pradesh
At least 11 persons, including eight minors, were killed after a tractor trolley, carrying devotees for Durga idol immersion, toppled and fell into a pond in Madhya Pradesh’s Khandwa district on Thursday (October 2, 2025), officials said. According to officials, the incident took place around 5 p.m. in Jamli Kalan village of Khandwa’s Pandhana tehsil when a tractor-trolley, laden with around 25-30 people, was parked on a makeshift culvert to immerse the Durga idol, when it lost balance and overturned, plunging the passengers into the water.
U.P. suspends internet services for 48 hours in Bareilly
