Two Sabarimala pilgrims killed in car-bus collision


Two people were killed and three others, including two children, were seriously injured when a car carrying Sabarimala pilgrims collided with a tourist bus in Chadayamangalam, Kollam.

The accident took place around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday (January 4, 2025) near Nettathara on MC Road and the car was completely destroyed in the accident. Reportedly, the car with a Maharashtra registration, was carrying a family from Tamil Nadu.

The deceased have been identified as Tamil Nadu residents Sharavanan (30) and Shanmugha Achari (70).

While one person died on the spot, another succumbed to injuries on Sunday (Jan. 5) morning. Currently three others, including two children who were seriously injured in the incident, are undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.
