Vedike plans to picket sugar factory in Kalaburagi

Demanding that the State government ensure payment of ₹3,300 per tonne for sugarcane crushed during the current season, members of the Shramajeevigala Vedike and Aland Taluk Sugarcane Growers Association have announced a a plan to picket NSL Sugar Factory at Bhusanur village in Aland taluk on Monday.

State president and founder of Shramajeevigala Vedike Chandrashekhar Hiremath, addressing a press conference in Kalaburagi on Thursday, said that the agitation is being organised to draw attention of the authorities to the continuous exploitation and unfair deductions faced by sugarcane growers in Aland and nearby taluks.
