The water level in Papanasam dam stood at 121.95 feet (the maximum level is 143 feet) with an inflow of 6178.45 cusecs and a discharge of 700 cusecs. The level in Manimuthar dam stood at 99.45 feet (maximum level is 118 feet) with an inflow of 2974.64  cusecs and a discharge of 500 cusecs.

The rainfall recorded in Tirunelveli district ending at 6 a.m on Sunday are as follows (in mm):  Ambasamudram 75, Cheranmahadevi 69, Palayamkottai 35, Tirunelveli 56, Radhapuram 34, Nanguneri 32, Kalakkad 34, Papanasam 78, Manjolai 210, Kakkachi 225, Nalumkku 256 and Oothu 250.
