Cole Palmer scored a brace and assisted new signing Joao Pedro in the first half as Chelsea lifted its second trophy of the season, after winning the UEFA Conference League in May.

This edition of the competition saw the number of teams increased from seven to 32, with matches spanning across a month in the United States after the conclusion of the regular season.
