England and Spain will face off in the 2025 Women’s European Championship final on Sunday at the St. Jakob-Park stadium in Basel, Switzerland.

While the Three Lionesses beat Italy in the semifinals, the defending world champion in the La Roja beat Germany in the last four for a spot in the summit clash.

When was the last time England won Women’s EURO?

England is the defending European champion and last won the Women’s EURO back in 2022 when it beat Germany 2-1 in the final.

It was Chloe Kelly who had scored the winner for the English after goals from Ella Toone and Germany’s Lina Magull forced the match to extra-time.

Sarina Wiegman was England’s coach back then too, leading the country to its first-ever major trophy — across men and women’s football — in 56 years. The men’s team’s World Cup triumph in 1966 was the nation’s only major trophy before the women were crowned continental champions.
