Why Mamdani’s win isn’t a critique of capitalism


Psephologists and political scientists are busy working out the determinant causes behind Zohran Mamdani’s New York win. While they would disagree on the weights behind these factors, they would attribute the victory to some combination of promises on affordability, building an effective multiracial coalition, anti-establishment appeal, and an opposition to national (Trump) and international (Israel-Gaza) political developments.
