Woman held with ganja at Coimbatore railway station

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested a woman from Bihar on Saturday at the Coimbatore railway station with 14 kg of ganja.
The arrested woman has been identified as Minta Devi, 38, who is from Azampur village in Vaishali district, Bihar.
The RPF personnel conducted an anti-drug drive at the railway on Saturday and monitored passengers of the Patna – Ernakulam Junction Express (22644) that reached Coimbatore around noon. The personnel noticed that the woman was carrying a white polythene bag in a suspicious manner. They checked the bag and found that it contained 14 kg of ganja.
The RPF handed over the woman and the contraband to the Prohibition Enforcement Wing of the Coimbatore city police. The woman was arrested by the police for offences under Sections 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(B) and 29(1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. She was produced before a court and was remanded in judicial custody till March 5.
