Day eight of the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo will feature six finals along with the conclusion of women’s heptathlon event.
All eyes will be on Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon in the women’s 5,000m final. She will look to repeat the 1,500m-5000m double from Budapest 2023. However, she will face tough competition from compatriot and World Record holder Beatrice Chebet, who won the women’s 10,000m gold on the opening day of the ongoing edition.
An exciting men’s 800m final, featuring Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi (Kenya), reigning world champion Marco Arop (Canada), and Djamel Sedjati (Algeria) – the fifth fastest man in history – will also be held on Friday.
Women’s and men’s 20km race walk, women’s shot put and women’s javelin throw will be the other finals.
