World Stroke day celebrated by Kauvery Hospital

The community has a role in creating awareness on health even as hospitals and government departments are involved in creating infrastructure facilities, K. Vijayakarthikeyan, Joint Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, said.

Participating in the success meet of the 4 1/2-hour stroke reversal programme of the Kauvery Hospital in the city on Wednesday, he said, with an average of one person suffering a stroke every 40 seconds,  the city faces a huge challenge.

‘Setting a benchmark’

Aravindan Selvaraj, co-founder and Executive Director of Kauvery Group of Hospitals, said the stroke reversal programme has set a benchmark in the city with regard to stroke treatment.  He congratulated Sivarajan Thandeswaran, who  joined the Kauvery Hospital a decade ago, has created and operated a separate sophisticated and  modern stroke treatment facilities. Dr. Sivarajan Thandeswaran said more than 950 stroke patients were treated.
