WPL Auction 2026: Alyssa Healy remains unsold, finds no takers for Women’s Premier League Season 4
Australia captain Alyssa Healy went unsold at the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 Auction on Thursday in New Delhi, finding no takers across both the marquee and accelerated rounds.
Healy was the first name to go under the hammer in the opening marquee set but failed to draw a single bid in the room. Her prolonged battle with injuries appears to have weighed heavily on franchise thinking, with teams reluctant to commit early funds and lock in an overseas slot for a player whose recent availability has been uncertain.
That caution was underlined when the 35-year-old again attracted no interest during the accelerated auctions later in the day.
Healy is currently featuring in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) for the Sydney Sixers but has endured a lean run with the bat, managing just 65 runs across four innings so far. She had missed the previous WPL season after a recurring foot injury flared up during last year’s T20 World Cup in the UAE. Across the first two editions of the league, she captained UP Warriorz.
In 17 WPL matches, Healy has scored 428 runs, with her unbeaten 96 off 61 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the inaugural season standing as the joint second-highest individual score in the tournament’s history.
At the international level, Healy remains a central figure in Australia’s golden era, having been part of six T20 World Cup-winning squads and two ODI World Cup triumphs. Most recently, she led Australia to the semifinals of the 2025 ODI World Cup, where they lost to eventual champions India.
