Youth arrested for selling drugs at Besant Nagar

A 28-year-old man, who hails from Manipur, was arrested by a police team from the Thiruvanmiyur station on charges of smuggling drug pills on Saturday. 

The City Police said K. Khamazamuan, who worked at a restaurant in Besant Nagar, was allegedly involved in smuggling and distributing drug pills to customers visiting the establishment. Based on a tip off, a special police team from Thiruvanmiyur station monitored Khamazamuan’s movements and arrested him when he was allegedly trying to sell drugs to a customer.

The police team seized strips of drug tablets, a mobile phone, and a two-wheeler from him.

The accused was later produced before a judicial magistrate and sent to prison.
