YouTube Drops Its First-Ever India Recap, Just Like Spotify, Apple Music: How To See Your 2025 Vibes?
As 2025 winds down, YouTube has launched its first-ever YouTube Recap, a personalised year-end highlight reel that showcases your top viewing habits, favourite creators, and quirky watch patterns, much like Spotify Wrapped but tailored to every late-night binge and tutorial spiral. After rolling out in North America on December 2, the feature is now reaching users in India and other regions.

The company says the feature highlights the deep dives, interests, and moments users explored throughout the year, an idea refined through nine rounds of testing and over 50 concept variations. This marks the first time the main YouTube app mirrors the popular YouTube Music Recap experience.

How To See Your YouTube Recap
Accessing the Recap is straightforward: users simply need to open YouTube on mobile or desktop, sign in, and navigate to the ‘You’ tab where a ‘Your Recap is here’ banner appears. The experience includes interactive cards showing top genres, channels, and a timeline of viewing patterns. YouTube also adds a fun twist by assigning “watch personalities,” ranging from The Sunshiner to The Wonder Seeker, The Connector, and even rare types like The Philosopher or The Dreamer.

Beyond personality tags, the Recap also incorporates top artists and songs of the year for users who frequently consume music on the platform, blending data from YouTube and YouTube Music. The platform is also releasing global trend charts featuring this year’s most popular creators, podcasts, and songs, giving users a larger view of what shaped digital culture in 2025.
By embracing end-of-year storytelling, YouTube aims to make the main app feel more personal and reflective. As the rollout begins worldwide, including India this week, users will soon be able to revisit their year of cooking tutorials, gadget deep dives, late-night comedy clips, and everything in between, all wrapped into a shareable highlight reel.
