Zimbabwe replaces Afghanistan in tri-nation T20I series in Pakistan
Zimbabwe will replace Afghanistan in the tri-nation T20I series to be played in Pakistan next month, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Saturday.
Afghanistan had withdrawn from the series following the death of three local cricketers in Paktika province, near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, during the ongoing military conflict between the two nations.
The International Cricket Council and multiple national boards, including the Board of Control for Cricket in India, condemned the attack but the PCB insisted that the tri-nation series will go ahead as scheduled. Sri Lanka is the third team in the series.
The series will be played from November 17 and 29 in Rawalpindi and Lahore. The Lankans will also visit Pakistan for a three-match T20I series before the tri-series.
